Arguably the best Astaire-Rogers film made. The
pair exhibit more style, grace and flair than mere humans should
be allowed. George Stevens' directing showcases them without
ever getting in their way. Astaire's character must change his
gambling ways and demonstrate that he can actually (gasp) earn
a living to convince his lady love's father that he is worthy
son-in-law material. Along the way, he meets Ginger, and his
fiancee is long forgotten. Features several spectacular dance
numbers (no surprise there).
