 Based loosely on Washington Irving's 18th-century
horror tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Tim Burton's movie follows a mild-mannered
detective named Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) investigating a series of supernatural
murders in a small town. The inhabitants believe it's the work of a homicidal
ghost, also known as "the Headless Horseman". While he is not
chasing ghosts, Ichabod Crane becomes entangled with the fair Katrina Van
Tassle (Christina Ricci), the daughter of a rich local.
