What's the worst thing that can happen to a guy his first day
of senior year? Hint: it involves involuntary blood flow and
an 80-year-old school librarian. That's all we can share right
now but the end result is so painful and humiliating that poor
Dizzy Harrison (DJ Qualls) gets labeled untouchable for life
by his entire school. No one can help him. Not his clueless dad,
Bear Harrison (who just got new orthodontia, by the way), nor
his fellow outcasts and bandmates Nora, Glen and Kirk. When an
incompetent guidance counselor overmedicates him for misdiagnosed
Tourette's Syndrome, Diz gets into a fight with an army of nuns
and tossed into jail. There he gets turned around, rather, re-inspired.
Inmate Luther (Eddie Griffin) counsels Diz on how to re-invent
himself at the rival high school. Diz re-names himself Gil Harris
and, with the help of Luther's prison know-how, becomes the most
feared and respected man at Highland High before lunch. When
Diz's chief tormentor at his old school, a football thug named
Barclay, also enrolls at Highland, Diz's secret identity dangles
by a thread.
