Hammond wants the island to be an amusement park, so he invites paleontologists Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Alan Grant (Sam Neill) along with mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to inspect his park for him. Hammond is even so naive as to believe that the park is so safe that he allows his grandchildren to go along for the ride.
